Bombay Bistro is a locally owned and operated Restaurant where we believe in serving Authentic and Wholesome Indian Cuisine. The first Restaurant was opened in the year 2005 on Research blvd. Since then there has been no turning back. The popularity, feedback and love from our patrons made us to expand to South Austin location in October 2010.

Rakesh Menhdiratta is an executive chef at Bombay Bistro . He brings with him 27 years experience in food preparation, kitchen, and banquet operations. His buffet spreads and exotic variations of simple dishes have earned him great appreciation from the regular customers at Bombay Bistro.
He earned his degree in hotel management from Institute of Hotel Management, Delhi. He worked for 21 years with Ashok Hotel Group (ITDC) New Delhi, a five star deluxe hotel, one of the biggest and well known hotels in Asia. He was a member of executive team of Indian chefs, preparing specialty Indian cuisine for visiting head of states being hosted by Government of India. He was an Executive Team Coordinator for the State Banquet hosted in honor of the President Bill Clinton at the Ashok Hotel, New Delhi. By giving a gastronomic accent to the rustic and simple kebab and curries, Chef Rakesh has helped make Frontier and Durbar restaurants at Ashok Group quite simply the finest restaurant anywhere. Master Chef Bhupender Rawat (Bhupi) comes to Austin from New Delhi, were he trained and refined his culinary skills at some of the finest hotels in India, including: The Ambassador Hotel, The Park Hotel and the India International Centre. Chef then honed his skills with his own catering business where he catered to various Government events as well as for Private Corporations. After living in Germany for four years as a corporate chef, Bhupi came to Austin, where he provided consulting services for the growth of Indian cuisine in Austin for over a decade.
